Getting your consignment collected and delivered on time is our first priority. Our multi-lingual team pride ourselves on providing our customers with the stress-free Door-To-Door service that you require, ensuring that all your needs are taken care of.
Road haulage is one of the most reliable modes of freight transport available – And with over 150 years combined experience in the industry, it is safe to say that your cargo is in safe hands with ACP.
When ACP first started in 1996, we initially offered a driver-accompanied freight service to France. Nowadays, we specialise in the supply of prompt and efficient road transportation service between the United Kingdom and Europe. Very few companies in our industry run road transport and freight forwarding operations alongside one another. Our success in achieving this means we can offer a complete road freight forwarding service to and from Europe, and domestically within the UK – no matter what your requirements.
We at ACP Specialise in many different types of European road freight services including:
General Transport Services:
When it comes to moving general cargo, our expertise and resources are second to none. We have developed our transport network over the years so that we are able to cater to all your freight requirements. Whether you are transporting one pallet or a full truck load, we have the right knowledge at our disposal to collect and deliver your consignment swiftly and effectively. If you would prefer a fixed collection or delivery slot, then we can indeed accommodate this. Perhaps you need to make multiple collections or deliveries, if so, we can offer you the appropriate solution. Whether you are looking to make a rapid transport with a short transit time or would prefer a cheaper alternative with a longer transit time, we are at your disposal. No matter what your freight transport requirements, long term, or short term, get in touch with our friendly members of staff to see how we can help support the future growth of your business.
Movement of Excise Goods (Alcohol):
Our customers choose us on the merit of our reputation. Widely acknowledged within the drinks industry as a specialist wine, beer, and spirits haulier, we use our considerable experience and expertise to tailor a complete road freight service to your requirements.
We are unique, in that we are one of only a handful of UK operators permitted to hold their own Transport Movement Guarantee. This allows ACP to move goods under Excise Duty-Suspension by using our Guarantee. To achieve this, we had to meet HM Customs and Excise’s (HMCE) rigorous selection criteria – being awarded this status indicates not just the high level of service we provide, but our ongoing commitment to our customers.
Excise goods moving under excise duty suspension must be covered by financial security in the form of a Movement Guarantee. It is the consignor’s responsibility to ensure that a valid Movement Guarantee is in place. However, we offer the use of our Transport Movement Guarantee to customers who wish to use us to transport any of their excise duty suspended alcohol shipments.
Refrigerated Transport:
ACP offer our customers a full load transport service on any goods that require a temperature-controlled trailer. We transport a wide variety of goods ranging from foodstuffs, to pharmaceutical and manufacturing equipment. Our Refrigerated transport network can accommodate a range of different temperatures, from ambient to frozen, so that we can find the right solution for you, no matter what your consignment. With a dedicated team of highly experienced drivers and on-site office staff at our disposal, we will provide you with the right solution for your UK and European refrigerated transport needs.
Hazardous and Waste Transport:
Many of our customers make transport enquiries for goods that require special licenses in order to carry them, with hazardous goods and waste items falling under this category. Although our own drivers do not carry these specific licenses, our knowledge and advanced transport network allows us to find appropriate solutions fully tailored to your consignment.
High Value Cargo:
As part of our standard road freight service, all loads are always covered under CMR conditions. This CMR insurance is based on the SDR Rate of 8.33 per KG of cargo, therefore, you will need to consider the level of cover for your cargo based on their weight and value.
When our customers wish to transport high value goods, we will always recommend that Marine Cargo Insurance is obtained. Marine Cargo insurance benefits the customer, as in the rare event that the cargo becomes damaged during transit, it ensures that the full value is covered. ACP have the capabilities in-house to provide our customers with Marine Cargo Insurance. Please do not hesitate to inform us if you are interested in this additional service upon your next quote request.
ISPM 15
It is very important to ensure that all solid wood packaging (boxes, crates, pallets) is in compliance with ISPM 15 regulations, otherwise the packaging may fail inspections which can result in delays and extra costs. These regulations are in place to help prevent the spread of plant pests and parasites when transporting cargo across the world. In order to be compliant with ISPM 15 regulations, the wooden packaging must be fumigated, or heat treated by a specialist, prior to the exportation of the cargo. For more information regarding ISPM15 regulations, you can visit the GOV.UK website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/import-or-export-wood-packaging-material
Incoterms
Incoterms are universal trade terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). They consist of three-letter codes that are intended to clearly communicate the tasks, costs and risks associated with the transportation and delivery of the goods in an international transaction. They describe how responsibility is allocated between the buyer and the seller for different parts of the transaction. Please ensure that you communicate with your customer / supplier what Incoterms you are trading under prior to shipping. You can see a list of all the Incoterms below.
